Tools and Procedures for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions

Petra Pistor currently acts as Deputy Managing Director of the Centre for Higher Education Development and Quality Enhancement (CHEDQE) at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE). Her responsibility here lies in two of the centre's five teams: data management and evaluation. Petra Pistor has worked on a variety of evaluation projects in higher education. Actual, her working activities are focused on different evaluation projects and trainings in the field of higher education quality management both in Germany as well as internationally, especially in East and also West Africa. As a freelancer she works as consultant and trainer in various contexts for Higher Education Institutions. Karl-Heinz Stammen has a Graduate Diploma in Social Science and completed teacher training. Since 2005, he has worked as a research associate at the Centre for Higher Education Development and Quality Enhancement (CHEDQE) of the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he heads the data management team. Amongst others, Karl-Heinz Stammen coordinates the student panel, course evaluation and graduate tracer studies of the university. His working activities are focused on the design and realisation of different higher education and student research projects as well as trainings in the field of quality assurance and enhancement in higher education especially in East Africa.
